EasyJet pilot crashes mid-air on flight from Egypt to Manchester
About two hours after the plane landed, crew members rushed to the front of the plane because of the incident and shouted to ask if anyone on board had received medical training.
Privacy screens were pulled, with most assuming the ill passengers were passengers.
A passenger on the plane at the time told the Manchester Evening News: "The crew called to say that this was the captain/pilot who was receiving treatment and had fallen ill and we would give them an update on what was going to happen."

They were told that the plane would have to make an emergency landing.
"We started to panic," the passenger continued. "I was getting annoyed because it felt so rough and bumpy and I started to panic because I thought it was the end."

The co-pilot successfully landed the plane. With emergency medical personnel on the ground, an easyJet spokesperson told Metro: “easyJet can confirm that flight EZY2252 from Hurghada to Manchester last night had to be diverted to Athens after the captain required medical attention.
